Just... please...

Come see "You Can't Take It With You" at the THS auditorium February 25 and 26. Our original opening night was canceled, so that's one less opportunity for us to perform. We have a show Friday and Saturday at 7, and a matinee at 2 p.m. on Saturday. (weather permitting) It's $7 for students at the door, which is a pretty good deal for such a fantastic play!

Please please PLEASE support the theatre department by coming to see this show! I know this is totally unrelated to Do Something, but I love you guys a lot and I know that this is definitely a club that can appreciate hard work.

Thank you! I hope you all had a wonderful snow day!

Meeting 2/15

Hola, mi amigos.

Judging from the notes, it looks like today was a super productive meeting! Thanks, guys! You rock!

The hunt for an adviser is still on. At this point, we have Alysia asking Croft and Peters, Spencer asking Cable and Montgomery, and Kendall asking English.
By the way, does anyone know if the cards we made a while back ever got to Mrs. Bowman? Just wondering...

At the next meeting, we're having a sort of meet and eat for the new members! Signed up, we have Eli bringing soda, Alysia bringing candy, Annie bringing chips, Kendall bringing cups, and Clara bringing cookies. Thanks to those who volunteered!

Signed up for the Carter Creek tree planting set for Sat. 2/19 (9-12 p.m. at 5800 Meadows Rd., Lake Oswego) are Emma, Spencer, and Allie. Eli, Clara, Grace and Lin (?) are maybe's. Please comment if you are going! Carpooling arrangements need to be made. And don't forget to bring $1 for gas money! Sign up online at this link...

We'll hold nominations for the new officer positions at the March 15 meeting. Be looking out for people displaying leadership skills who would be good to nominate! We'll have a final election on March 29, at which the nominees will need to have time for a short speech.

If you are going to the Lighthouse Farm Animal Sanctuary on Sat. 3/19, please let us know by March 10! We need a head count. Don't forget to plan on bringing $3 for gas money.

As far as the status on all of our other projects goes, please check the last blog post, so I don't have to rewrite the same old news.

Thank you, guys! You are all lovely souls!

Meeting 2/8

Hey guys!

Sorry for the late post, there was a bit of miscommunication going on...

This was a bit of a "let's-catch-up-on-everything-that's-going-on" meeting, so here are some things that are (hopefully) happening in the near future.
  • Tues. Feb 15- Club Rush; be at the school by 7:15 please! If you have a DS shirt, please wear it!
  • Sat. Mar 19- Lighthouse Farm Animal Sanctuary; from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. We'll get a confirmed head count and figure out rides as the date gets closer, but try to keep this day open!
  • Sat. March 26- SOLV Beach Clean Up; from 10 a.m. -1 p.m. Not sure which beach yet, but if people have input, be sure to keep us updated!
  • Sat. Apr 16- Diabetes Walk; still working this one through...
  • We're also working on... Splash 4 Cash, IC Spring Tour, Peace Out Rally, volunteering with Our Peaceful Place, and TWLOHA (twloha.fancorps.com)
This weekend was our trip to the Real LIFE Exhibit, and I gotta say, those of us who went were really inspired. We picked up about 50 billion brochures to share on Tuesday, so if those who weren't able to go are feeling the need to go later on, we will arrange another day.

We need a new adviser, so several people went out asking teachers, and the only one who said yes (that I'm aware of; if I'm wrong, please let me know) was Montgomery. (thank you, Spencer!) So we may be switching homes for a while! I'll talk to Montgomery for sure tomorrow, and if that goes well, then plan on meeting in her room. (Upper language hall)

Also, be aware that elections are coming up! Thanks guys!
