Summer is almost over, and that means we're about to start another awesome year of Do Something shenanigans. Hopefully, this year will be the best yet. If that's gonna happen, we've got a lot to do.
For the sake of keeping this short, here are some bullet points...
-Meetings now start at 3:15! We still end at 4.
-No more CJ! We're changing it to a more welcoming suggestion jar.
-No poster board for Club Rush. Instead we're having a DVD with videos of our projects.
-I still need to film, so we'll do this at the first meeting, which is Tuesday, September 14 at 3:15.
-First meeting after Club Rush, we'll have a meet and greet. As soon as we know when Club Rush is, we'll plan this more thoroughly.
-We need to hook a lot of people at club rush! Hopefully, we want enough people to have committees. Some for projects, and a committee for fundraising. Let's make it happen!
-We're ordering bulk t-shirts soon, hopefully before Club Rush. I'll try getting a hold of you for your shirt size.
-Everyone will be getting a monthly calendar with events, meetings, etc. on it. There will be a hard copy in the DS box in Bowman's class. We'll also have a public calendar (possibly) in the window of Ms. Bowman's room.
-We're going to try and continue monthly pop can collecting throughout the school year.

ALSO! We are making contact sheets so that we can spread the word when a new blog is up. There's a bit of explaining to do about this, so we will talk about it at the meeting.

all of that sounds really familiar ;) i'm glad to see it all written down and neat because after our meeting i felt kinda messy with everything that we talked about.
anyway shouldn't we plan out the video the first meeting then tape it the second? unless we can plan it fast. but doing it the second official meeting we can be more prepared with props or clothes or whatever and then we have more time to perfect the script and stuff. just an idea... unless you really want to get it done asap for editing
Hey Court this is all great! But we do need a sign that says DO SOMETHING! For Club Rush... Other than that I have an idea for us... I was talking about adopt a street but when I was at school getting my schedual I saw a sign for "Adopt a Hallway" that could be a good idea for local stuff for Do Something to do...

A monthly calendar is a fabulous idea!! VERY organized and that way everything is in one spot. LOVE IT

whoever posts a blog, can email around to say a new post is up! that works best for me

I already basically have both the videos planned out, all I need now is people. Props and clothes aren't really necessary... Well... specific clothes... clothing in general is good... You know what I mean.
I always take a long time with editing, so the more time, the better.

In the box, we have that nice banner that Do Something sent us a while back, I was thinking we could us that? It's just one less thing to do, haha.
Hmmm, that's kinda neat! Maybe we could get more info on what that other sign was for? Maybe there's another club that's already doing that or something, and we could talk to them to see what it's all about. That's awesome, thanks Emma!

That's something we talked about at the party, meeting type thing, haha. We're going to try and have a few people in charge of notifying different members in the club when a new blog is up. The idea is that with one person in charge of a few other people, the one in charge will soon start to notice the best way to reach each person their in charge of, and we would have a more personalized way of contacting everyone.
We're gonna give this a try for a while to see how it works, if it somehow gets messy, we'll figure something new out. We'll see how this goes.

Oh yeah we planned out the video at the meeting party thing! I forgot lol Court was writing a script! Ok should we have Do Something shirts for the video? And yeah the banner is great! The sign about adopting a hallway looked kinda worn out like it might be old but we can ask who's in charge of it... I'm sure not all of the hallways are takin.. if any. -Emma Johnson
Shirts would be nice, but they're not vital. As long as we have them before Club Rush, it's all good.
I think that would be a good idea. I just don't want to step on anyone's toes. :]

well, so I love all the new plans!! im excited ;) especially with the monthly calender idea! i would have never thought about that, its great.
and oooh, t-shirts! small for mee~ ahaha. and thanks for giving me notices in txt messages and facebook. Its nice how more than one person does it so if just in case someone forgets it then they get remembered :)*cough* me *cough*

hey I talked to Eli and she said that shirt size for her will be an XS. but if they dont have xs she will have a Small.
