Howdy Y'all!
Before I say anything else, remember to bring 1 friend to the meeting next week! and comment on the blog to say you read it!
Anyways... we talked A LOT about fund raising today but we also talked about 1 in 3. Thank you to Alysia and Tanner for volunteering to interview for our PSA. (make sure you have the facts by November 20th) Tanner will you be able to do it? If any of you know anyone who has been in an abusive relationship, ask them if they would be willing to be interviewed for our PSA also. (we can make it anonymous!) OH and Courtney was wondering if anyone wanted to help her edit for the video. I think it will be over Thanksgiving weekend... am I right?
The Human rights assembly would be a good time to show our PSA at. It is Wednesday December 1st so we have to ask the assembly organizers if it would be okay.
Bring 1 person to the meeting next week! we need more people because the more people we have is the less work for you and the more things we can get done!
OKAY! on Saturday November 20th is a walk-a-thon to raise money for our club. It goes from 8-10am at the track at THS. We got our pledges today during the meeting and if you didn't get one you should find one of the officers and get your copy from them. Try to get as many pledges as you can! If you are confused about how to fill it out *cough cough Charlee* :D ask another person if they get it. and make sure you have all of your pledges by the 20th!
TEXT 102402 to 73774! EVERYDAY!!!!!
Now for Schools-for-Schools: we came up with like 50 ideas so bear with me!
Does anyone have an idea for an easy fundraiser that we can use for a hair whipping video. all we have to do is earn money for schools-for-schools while flipping our hair and we make a video of it. the deadline is November 15th sooooo basically we need to do our video by next Tuesday... Try to come up with some good ideas, we might walk around at lunch and whip our hair or stand on the corner by the school and do it... what do you guys think?!?!?!
We like new people! bring a friend! and comment on the blog!
We are also going to do a change for change thing at school. basically each class has a jar and they get points for every coin they have but you can also put dollar bills in other classes to make their score go down. The winning class would get a free piece of pizza, (maybe Little Ceasars would donate?) all they have to do is bring their ID card and show it at lunch and they get a free piece of pizza! we were thinking about announcing this at an assembly and the deadline would be December 10th so we have time to count the money and figure out what class wins. The pizza party would be the 17th of December.
Comment on the blog and bring a friend!
We talked about the Quidditch tournament again. We were thinking about having 4 teams, 1 staff team and 3 Student teams. We would have a training day in late November (whenever the gym is open) and the actual tourney would be the second week of December. Emma is in charge of finding the days we can use the school! THANKYOU! ANNND all the money we get from the Quidditch would go to Schools for Schools also!
HEY :) http://www.refresheverything.com/search/?q=Tigard
What do you guys think of having a movie night at school? maybe in the lower rotunda we would charge $2 for admission and people could come and watch movies and hang out with their friends and wear PJ's. It would be on a Friday because what else are you going to do on Friday? certainly not homework! ;) If we do this we also need a building use form and movies we would like to watch. This would be on December 3rd and we could kick it off with our PSA because that is the deadline for it (National Talk Day.)
I wish i had more friends... *hint hint* :)
We also talked briefly about advertising in stores (you know the little coin donation boxes they have at registers) so if you would like to, go to some stores and ask the manager how you would go about putting coin boxes there to use.

On the last day of Schools for Schools we want to have a venue(Church, school, or some kind of building) and have a lock in. We will have different activities in different rooms (guitar hero, twister, etc.) and we would just party all night long. It would be "like a carnival over night"! There would be a fee for entering into competitions. It would be on December 17th, which is also the money deadline and the last day before winter break. If you have any ideas comment or put in the suggestion jar... make sure you still comment though!!!

Yep! Editing will take place Thanksgiving weekend. Let me know if you're interested and we will work out an actual date/time.
If we are interested in presenting at the Human Rights Assembly, we should come up with a plan so that I have something to present with to Leadership. We will finalize this next meeting, so START BRAINSTORMING!
For the Walk-A-Thon, flat out donations are awesome and completely allowed. I was just trying to reiterate how pledges work so that we are all clear on what to do. If people just plain want to give you money, that is awesome!
Also, our meeting time has officially BEEN CHANGED FROM 3:15 to 3:05. Please start showing up on Tuesdays at this time so we can get started right away!
P.S.
Quinn = Beauty. Thank you so much, my love!
Ok Quinn great job I love you!
Court.. are you emailing me?
Ok so I love the little yellow reminders!!!!
I READ THE BLOG!
-Emma Johnson
I sent it a while ago, did it not work? I'm gonna punch your email in the face.
I love YOU, though. <3
I'll try again, let me know if you get it!
Another QUINNTASTIC post :D
I LOVE YOU QUINNY!!
anyway...
oh yea, quinn, you are awesome and make me laugh...
ANYWAY. . .
I think that just going to each table and whipping our hair would be fun, butit would be even better if we could get the whole table to to it too as they are donating money to this great cause.
As far as the walk-a-thon goes, I just need someone to power walk with me or I'll just bring my Ipod because I'm already doing really good with the pledges.
I got the email about Amy and I'll call tomorrow to set up a time hopefully this weekend or next week when we don't have school
and Court, I should be able to help you edit if I don't have to watch the boys but I can't promise anything right now :<
PSA+movie night is perfect and the anon interview we have right now is still okay to use just FYI court.
We can talk more about the other stuff as the time comes closer
but I do think the lock in is a great idea but we will also need food for that...
oh and isn't there another IC viewing towards the end of this month?
Quinn read this blog!
Spencer Shaffer read the blog
Gracias, seniorita Shaffer!
If you have a Facebook, like this page pretty please... http://tinyurl.com/23v92gm
There is indeed another IC viewing. Those are easy to set up, though. We'll finalize everything next meeting.
Whoever wants to whip their hair for the video, is certainly free to do so. Basically what we need to fo shizzle get down to business with is what we're actually doing. Are we just asking people at lunch? Or are we going out in public somewhere? Are we breaking out into a musical number in the middle of lunch? (Oh God, please YES) We just need ideas.
Thank you Quinny, for reading as well... Haha. =P
If you want to sing court, then by all means sing your heart out.
I think it would be really cool and it would show the school's involvement if we could get tables of people to do it with us and not just in the commons, caf kids have spirit too.
it was hard to do but I managed... and by the way, whoever writes these writes too much :(
Well, if we did it at lunch, wouldn't we have to do that on Tuesday? That would be BEFORE the meeting obviously... So we would have no way to set it up...
And I know you, Courtney, with the cam corder have second lunch, and i have first. So I am confused on what we're going to do with that...
I think going out in public with it would be a fun idea!(:
And I can definetely help with editing the PSA video.
And thank you Quinniffer for doing the blog, hope my notes weren't too confuzling(:
-Charleeee
Okay, hun. I'm all for getting other people to get in the video, but what I really want is what are we actually going to DO? If we're just asking people for money, that's fine, I just want to see if there are any other ideas.
That is why it's important for people to comment and check the blog, because there are some last minute things that we need to set up. Like this fundraiser type thing for Tuesday. The first step is to figure out what we are actually doing and then we can talk about how we'll get it done. So, now it's back to, what do we want to do? If we are doing something in public, what would that be. Throw ideas out there! I don't care how stupid or brilliant they are, just give us something to work with!
P.S. Anonymous, who are you? Cuz I want to personally thank your lovely face for commenting. <3
P.P.S. There's not much that can be done about the length of the blogs. There's just a lot to say.
Also, what do we think about selling IC shirts? We could buy them in bulk online (the lowest price I found for plain white is $1.71 plus shipping, which is like $16). I've heard a lot of other people have had success with this. If we sold 20 shirts for $5, that would be about a $50 profit. Do we wanna go for it? They would be stencil shirts with spray paint, which actually look really cool.
courtneyyyyyyy! the shirt idea is wonderful! annnnnd... the anonymous was me... annnnnd i thought we were gonna walk around and flip our hair while asking for money... or we could do the chicken dance... but i don't know what i think of that idea... ya
~quinn
HEY I commented on the S4S note but maybe no one saw it :(
Anyway here's what I said:
I was thinkin that I could keep a chart above the jars and every couple of days just stay after school and count the money so then people will kno where the classes stand as far as money points and whatnot. This will be my project unless others want to help me count or record after school
How do it sound to ya'll?
Oh yea, I was going to continue the conversation but I forgot when I remembered that I posted on S4S...
I really like the shirt idea! I am totally going to get one if we sell them, we should take a poll around school (since emms likes those so much) to see what shirt sizes are more common than get more of those but of course get a lot of the other sizes as well.
Oh and chalee *british accent* I think we could do both, like second lunch and out in public. At lunch we could ask for donations but what would we do outside? We can't really ask every car that passes... we could have signs tho... but people rarely stop because of signs... that's just how RUDE they are....
car wash possibly... but that wouldn't make a lot because it's getting to the rainy season and people don't care.... hmmm gotta keep thinkin.
OH OH OHHH one final thing
Quinny, you are so comically amazing, I love you! :D
That would be absolutely perfect! We could also keep the totals up on the FB page for the competition. (If you haven't already, "like" it! http://tinyurl.com/23v92gm) You're beautiful. And thank you.
Awesome! Sooo, we have two options: a) order however many t-shirts we want and risk buying them all without the promise of selling them, but have the convenience of being able to give them out right away, or b) take people's orders for t-shirts and have to order them sporadically, but have the guarantee that we'll get money for everything we order. Thoughts?
P.S. That also means that we need to set up an after school day (probably separate from an actual meeting, since we have so much to do) where we can actually make t-shirts. And we need a place to do that. Just something to think about...
Awesome! Things like car washes are the kind of ideas we need! I don't think a car wash will work at this moment in time, but we can fo sho save that for a warmer time of year.
If we want signs, we could perhaps get together during lunch on Monday to get that done? Since Tuesday at lunch wouldn't be possible, and all...
Thanks, lovelies! I'll write up another blog right now to simplify everything said in the comments. <3
Sounds good, i need the walk-a-thon packet, now i did totally forget over the week to check the box, but ya, still need it haha. And i would be interested in helping editing. Tell me dates and i can finalize that more. I can also talk to courtney on tues. more about that. And i just "liked" the fb schools for schools page, which i would like to point out, not a lot of people have.... haha
- Megan S
Thank you so much Megan! I will come with your packet in hand to tomorrow's meeting; really sorry about that!
